Design Mode

Review AI-generated screens, refine them in chat, and move to a native build.

Design Mode helps you review your app's screens before generating a native implementation. It is available on Free, Pro, and Max. AI requests use your plan's build credits.

Create and review screens

  1. Start a project in Design Mode and describe the app, audience, screens, and visual style.
  2. Answer the questions in chat so OpenV2 can prepare the design brief.
  3. Review the generated screens in the Design view. Open a screen to inspect it at a larger size.
  4. Request changes in chat, naming the screen and the change: “On Home, use a smaller header and move the main action above the list.”
  5. Review the updated screens before continuing.

You can choose a design reference to guide colors, typography, and spacing. Refine the result through chat.

Move to Native Build Mode

When the design is ready, use Build on the design review card. Native Build Mode requires Pro or Max. The approved design guides the implementation for your selected iOS or Android platform.

Design screens are previews of appearance. To verify navigation, authentication, backend requests, permissions, or device behavior, build and run the native app. The cloud simulator or emulator costs 0.5 build credits per minute while ready and running; chat generation is charged separately.

Troubleshooting

If screens are still generating, wait for the current turn to finish. If generation fails, read the error, check your credit balance, and retry a focused request. If a screen looks wrong, describe the difference in chat and review the next version.
