Secrets

Keep private project credentials on the server and public configuration in the client.

Secrets stores key-value configuration for your project with client or server scope.

Choose the scope

ScopeWhere it is usedSuitable values
ClientGenerated app, preview, and buildsPublishable keys and public configuration
ServerV2 Cloud server logicPrivate API keys, admin tokens, and webhook secrets

Client values can be extracted from a distributed app. Keep private credentials in server scope.

Manage secrets

  1. Open More → Secrets.
  2. Add a key name and value.
  3. Select the scope and save.
  4. Rebuild the app or update the server integration to apply changes.

Enter secret values in the secrets interface rather than chat. Ask OpenV2 to reference their names in server code.
