Live preview

Run your app on a cloud iPhone, iPad, foldable or Android device streamed to your browser: turn it on, use the tools, read the logs, and know when it stops.

The preview panel runs your app on a real simulator in the cloud and streams it to your browser. You do not install anything.

Turn it on

  1. Open the preview and press Turn on simulator.
  2. Choose the device: iPhone, iPad or Duo (a foldable with Front, Book and Laptop views).
  3. Wait while the app builds and launches, then use it like a phone.

The first start builds your project. After that, every change rebuilds and relaunches the app.

Platforms

The bar at the top of the workbench switches between your iOS and Android apps. The + button adds the other platform to the project. Android uses a cloud emulator.

Preview tools

The toolbar above the device offers:

ToolWhat it does
Record videoRecords a video of the device
Screenshot, add to chatCaptures the screen and attaches it to your next message
Select ElementsTap something in the running app to pick it, then ask the agent to change exactly that element
Simulator settingsDevice and display options
Rebuild and install the latest versionRebuilds and relaunches the app with your newest changes
Stop the simulatorTurns the simulator off
Run on your deviceStarts the install on a real phone with Companion

When it stops

  • After 3 minutes without interaction. A countdown appears for the last 30 seconds; touch the device to keep it on.
  • When you turn it off.
  • When your plan's usage limit is reached. The message says which limit it is and when it resets.
  • When another session takes over.

Turn the simulator off when you finish testing: it uses your plan's usage while it runs.

App logs

Open the logs panel to see build errors, launch failures and runtime messages from the running app. The agent can read the same logs: ask "check the app logs and fix the crash".

Usage

The simulator and each build use your plan's usage. On Free this comes from your one-time trial. See Plans and usage.

Real phones

The simulator is separate from installing on a phone. Use Companion for that.
