Preview and workbench
Fix a blank simulator, a failed launch, an app that does not update, a simulator that stopped and phone installs.
Start with the error in the logs panel of the preview.
Blank screen or failed launch
- Check that the selected platform (iOS or Android) matches the app.
- Wait for the current build to finish.
- Open the logs and find the first build or launch error.
- Ask the chat to fix that error without changing unrelated features. The agent can read the same logs.
- Restore a working version if a recent edit caused it.
A screen is missing
Tell the agent which button you tapped and which screen you expected. Ask it to add the screen and connect the navigation.
The app does not update
Wait for the rebuild and relaunch after a change. A failed build can leave the previous successful app running: fix the error first. If the session looks stale, press Rebuild and install the latest version, or turn the simulator off and on.
The simulator stopped
- It turns off after 3 minutes without interaction. A countdown shows in the last 30 seconds.
- A usage limit may have been reached: the message names the limit and when it resets. See Plans and usage.
- Another session may have taken over the device.
Read the message in the preview, then press Turn on simulator when you are ready.
The simulator will not start
Check that your plan and usage allow it, wait for any running build to end, and try again. If it still fails, copy the message and contact support.
Phone installation
For connection, signing, trust or USB debugging problems, follow Preview on device. Installing on a phone uses Companion and needs Pro or Max.
