Sharing and visibility
Public and private projects, who can find and remix them, how to share your project and how it differs from publishing your app.
Visibility decides who can find and copy your project in OpenV2. It is separate from publishing your app to a store and from a build on a phone.
Public and private
| Setting | Free | Pro / Max |
|---|---|---|
| Public | Required | Available |
| Private | Not available | Available |
Change it with the Visibility control in the project header, where your plan allows it.
Public projects
Anyone with the link can view a public project, and it can appear in Discover, where others can remix it into their own account. See Discover and remix.
Private projects
Private projects are not shown in Discover and cannot be remixed. Give people access by inviting them as editors or viewers.
Share your project
Use Share in the header to copy your project link. For a private project the link only helps people you have invited.
What visibility does not do
- It does not unpublish an app that is already on a phone or in a store.
- It does not control who can use your app's backend: set that in V2 Cloud.
- A project link is not an installable app. To let people try the app itself, use Companion on your phone or release a test build to the stores.
