Workbench overview
The OpenV2 IDE — preview, code, V2 Cloud, plan, sketch, and more.
The workbench is the IDE you use while building at /chat/:id. Toggle between chat and workbench from the header.
Workbench views
| View | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Preview | Live app in a phone frame |
| Code | File tree + CodeMirror editor + terminal |
| Backend | V2 Cloud dashboard (PocketBase) |
| Analytics | Legacy project dashboard (general stats) |
| Details | Timeline of AI actions (reads, writes, tools) |
| Plan | Review approved build plans |
| Sketch | Excalidraw wireframes |
Header actions
From the project header you can:
- Publish — deploy web preview to
*.openv2.dev - Build — start native Android/iOS builds
- Visibility — public / private (Pro+)
- Collaborators — invite editors or viewers
- Comments — project discussion thread
- QR menu — Expo Go and live web app links
Chat ↔ workbench
Chat stays available alongside the workbench. The AI sees your project files, V2 Cloud state, and conversation history. Edits in the code editor are reflected on the next AI turn.
OpenV2 Buddy
On desktop, a floating pixel companion — OpenV2 Buddy — reacts while the agent works, when preview is ready, and during idle moments. Configure it from the project menu or Settings → Profile.
Three dashboards (don't confuse them)
| Name | Location | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Dashboard | /dashboard | All your projects |
| V2 Cloud | Workbench → Backend | App backend (PocketBase) |
| Project analytics | Workbench → Analytics | Legacy project-level stats |
